Perhaps the biggest upset this year was Holden's Captiva taking the top spot in the Medium SUV segment over Toyota's popular LandCruiser Prado and even its newer ‘softer’ entry, the Kluger. Toyota's two-way bet wasn't enough for the Japanese brand to hold out the Korean-built Captiva with its solid interior, stylish exterior and seven-seat and diesel options. Another Korean contender, the Kia Sorento was given a significant update late this year so watch this space.
