CommentsEvolving from its predecessor (944) the Porsche 968 is powered by an updated version of the straight 4 engine displacing 3.0 litre and producing 177Kw. In addition to the engine upgrade the 968 also included Porsches then new Variocam variable valve timing system. A newly optimised induction system and exhaust system and dual mass fly wheel where also added along with an updated engine management system.
With a limited number of Cabriolets produced worldwide (only 2141), the 968 has become very collectable and has carved its way into the hearts of many enthusiasts'.

Ordered specially direct from the factory by a very influential business man from Hong Kong. His relationship with Porsche was such that he was able to order the vehicle with options not usually available on this model.

This one of a kind 968 Cabriolet was ordered in Rubystone Red, a colour normally reserved for the 964 RS model of the same period, and RS steering wheel. Full Black leather interior and Porsches Tiptronic gear box this is believed to be the only factory right hand drive built to these specifications. Other options include comfort electric seats for driver and passenger, 17" Cup Wheels and protective side mouldings.

The car arrived in Australia in May 2003 and has been part of a private collection. It has a full service record including receipts since arriving down under.

Very low kms and in excellent order this is a rare example of a very desirable model. It is not often that such a rare car becomes available and this gem will be an asset to any collection.
