GOGGOMOBIL DART

It's a wee ripper and worth a pretty penny... Now you can get behind the wheel and help raise funds for charity in the process.

Visitors to Shannons' stand at the 2005 Australian International Motor Show will have an opportunity to get behind the wheel of one of Australia's most iconic sports cars - the Dart!

But there's a catch (or two) -- it's just for the purpose to take a photo and you'll have to make a donation for the privilege!

Shannons will be displaying two distinctive green Goggomobil Darts on its stand in Hall 6 at the Sydney Exhibition & Convention Centre throughout the Motor Show from October 14-23.

The bathtub like Dart, designed and built by Sydney fiberglass specialist Bill Buckle from 1957 to 1961 has become Australia's most recognised classic sports car thanks to its starring role in Shannons insurance TV and print advertising.

Those having their photo taken in the Darts will be asked to make a voluntary gold coin donation, with all proceeds going to the Sydney Children's Hospital Foundation.

The Foundation is the principal fundraising body for the Sydney Children's Hospital, Randwick and is dedicated to working with the community to improve the quality of life for this and future generations of seriously ill children.
