Alfa Romeo has bestowed its inaugural Dealer of the Year Awards

Alfa Romeo has announced its inaugural Alfa Romeo Dealer of the Year Awards. The awards come a decade after the marque was re-established Down Under by private importer, Ateco Automotive. Ateco also imports Fiat, Citroen and prestige marques Ferrari and Maserati.

The winner of the inaugural Alfa Romeo Dealer of the Year Award is Brighton (Vic) based Italian Motor Company. Category winners included Rick Damelian Alfa Romeo (Leichhardt, NSW) and Alfa Romeo Brisbane (Fortitude Valley, Qld).

"The reason that we have waited nearly ten years to launch Dealer of the Year Awards is not because we didn't think our dealers were offering a high quality of service," said David Stone, General Manager for Alfa Romeo in Australia (right, pictured with Gary Lowe, Dealer Principal, Italian Motor Company (centre) and Ric Hull, Managing Director of Ateco Automotive)

"Rather, we wanted to ensure that all our dealers were offering industry best practice -- which they do -- and then challenge them to really excel."

"Looking at the category winners, what is clear is that no one dealer has dominated. We have a wide range of dealers winning category awards from across the country," said Stone.
