» Get the best price on a new Hyundai Hyundai is offering buyers of the Getz 1.6 SX, Elantra and Tucson City free stability control for purchases made between April 15 and June 30. In addition, the Getz 1.4 S is being promoted with free ABS for the same period. The offers include driveaway pricing.
Hyundai was among the first of the volume importers to offer stability control (or ESP, as the company prefers to describe it), to Australian buyers. In the past, Hyundai often promoted retail incentives such as free air conditioning, but since even light cars are sold with standard air conditioning these days, ESP as an incentive to buy is something new and untried in the marketplace.
The advantage of the stability control program is that it reacts faster to a vehicle's change of attitude (as in an emergency manoeuvre) than the driver can and applies independent braking pressure to the four wheels, ironing out any untoward handling.
"Local research from Monash University in Victoria confirms that ESP Stability Control can reduce the risk of a single vehicle accident where the driver is injured by as much as 68 per cent," said Kevin McCann, Hyundai’s Director of Sales and Marketing.
"Hyundai believes the fitment of ESP Stability Control will be mandated on all new cars sold in Australia, and we are therefore including this life-saving technology as a feature of our Mid-Year Sale campaign.
"Our own research indicates that as soon as people understand what ESP Stability Control does, they value it even more highly than ABS anti-skid brakes."
Prices, for the duration of the campaign, are:
Getz 1.4 S $13,990 Driveaway with free ABS,
Getz 1.6 SX $14,990 Driveaway with free ESP Stability Control
Elantra 2.0 SX $19,990 Driveaway with free ESP Stability Control
Tucson City 2.0 SX $24,990 Driveaway with free ESP Stability Control
