LAMBORGHINI

The Italian supercar maker has reached a new high – price that is

Another Frankfurt motor show, another super-exclusive Lamborghini Reventon! As the rest of the Volkswagen Group talked about fuel efficiency, its Audi-mentored Italian supercar arm, Lamborghini, showed there is still room in the world for conspicuous consumption.

With the assistance of some stunning helpers, Lamborghini boss, Stephan Winkelmann (pictured) unveiled another limited edition version of the Reventon earlier this morning Aussie time, this time without a roof. And proving that less really does cost more, the latest Reventon is more expensive than the coupe version released at the Frankfurt motor show two years ago. There were 20 of those and they cost 1 million Euros each plus taxes. Well, there are only 15 of these, and they cost 1.1 million Euros each, plus taxes.

The roofless Reventon shares the coupe's stunning hand finished body and wild V12 engine. The 6.5-litre unit has 493kW of power and 660Nm of torque; enough to launch it to 100km/h in 3.4 seconds. Top speed is a claimed 330km/h.

The company describes the Reventon as "the most extreme expression of the brand".

We could tell you more about it but we think the Reventon says more in pictures.
