Taking the odd leaf from BMW's M Sport book, Lexus is introducing an F-Sport package for its IS 250 sedan that toughens up the looks with additional gear borrowed from the rorty IS F V8.

Making a nodding acquaintance with the high performance Lexus IS F, the F-Sport pack V6 Lexus gets sports suspension, five-spoke 18-inch alloy wheels, and IS F style rear spoiler and grille.

On the inside, it gets IS F front seats, a 14-speaker Mark Levinson sound system, aluminium floor pedals, F-logo steering wheel, scuff plates, black/silver trim and semi-aniline (dyed in a way that gives it a natural, two-tone appearance) leather seats.

The IS 250 F-Sport also adopts the IS F's Flame Blue paint finish.

The new F-Sport package is accompanied by some minor refinements to the rest of the IS 250 range where 17-inch alloy wheels, USB audio and, where applicable, revised sunroof switchgear, are standard.

Lexus says the USB jack plug now fitted to all models "enables controlled use of portable music players such as iPods from the IS 250's touch navigation screen."

The new F-Sport pack Lexus IS 250 is tagged at $71,490 ($73,490 with sunroof). The Sports Luxury version of the IS 250 is priced at $80,990 which, like other models across the range, is unchanged.
