While our MINI D Adventure is about to get underway, thousands of MINI enthusiasts are already celebrating in the old Dart. And MINI's delivered them three more reasons to party.
It's become a tradition at MINI United for the company to unveil 'special projects'. MINI used the Silverstone soire to unveil three new special edition Coopers -- the Camden and Mayfair and the MINI John Cooper Works World Championship 50.
The Camden and Mayfair feature unique colour and interior trim/accessory combinations and (in the UK at least) will be available in Cooper and Cooper S versions… And, of course, Cooper D as well… No news on whether the variants are coming Down Under yet.
The John Cooper Works World Championship 50 is somewhat more exciting, however. UK magazine EVO, reporting from MINI United, reports online today that the Mini John Cooper Works World Championship 50 (WC50) is the car that to date has been called F1.
The WC50 "takes its inspiration from legendary tuner John Cooper," says EVO and celebrates Cooper's F1 heritage.
It is mechanically the same as the JCW works but features special paint, Xenons, carbon and dark chrome detailing and new 17-inch wheels. The roof and bonnet stripes are white and the latter include John Cooper's signature. The interior of the 250-unit limited edition run is also fully optioned
MINI United is rocking Silverstone this weekend, hosting a range of events, live concerts, displays of all things MINI, as well as rounds of the UK MINI Challenge race series. Later this afternoon, we're embarking o a MINI adventure of our own...
