LAMBORGHINI

Making its global debut in Frankfurt, the new Lamborghini Reventón Roadster will be one of the rarest Italian supercars yet

The heavy hitters are out in force for the Frankfurt motor show, with more supercars than you can shake a Gurney flap at. Lamborghini will join the likes of Mercedes-Benz, Porsche and Ferrari with a new model in the form of the Reventón Roadster.

Released at Frankfurt two years ago, the Lamborghini Reventón coupe was limited to just 20 units, instantly making it one of the rarest Lambos on the planet and this open-top model is expected to be just as rare with a similarly small limited production run.

The new Lamborghini Reventón Roadster is expected to be powered by the same powertrain as the coupe, a 6.5-litre V12 cranking out 478kW/660Nm, which makes it good for a top speed of of around 340km/h.

Motive forces are delivered to all four wheels via a six-speed e-gear transmission and the zero to 100km/h sprint should take around 3.5 seconds.

Design wise and the Lamborghini Reventón Roadster retains the jet-fighter inspired design of the coupe, an edgy and angular design that won't go out of style any time soon.

This Italian lump of carbon fibre and aluminium is expected to sell at around €1.2 million, which works out to around $2 million in Aussie currency.
