Citroën has dropped the driveaway price of its fuel efficient seven-seat C4 Picasso to $39,990.

"By definition, people who are buying people movers already have a wide range of unavoidable expenditures, usually revolving around the children who will be occupying all those seats," says Miles Williams, General Manager for Citroën in Australia.

"Therefore we decided that already offering the lowest fuel consumption of any people mover in the Australian car market was not enough, we also had to trim the price below the critical $40,000 barrier and ensure that it was an on road, Driveway price. After all, $6000 goes a long way on children's clothing, toys, school uniforms and all the essentials of family life!"

Based on the Citroën C4, Picasso's footprint is only slightly larger than that of a small hatchback, making it easy to maneuver and better for the environment.

Powered by a strong yet frugal 100kW 2.0-litre turbodiesel engine, C4 Picasso sips just 5.0L/100km (combined), while emitting only 153g/km of CO2.

Inside, C4 Picasso rivals many SUVs for space, its versatile individual seating for seven, class-leading equipment levels and capacious cargo area making it an ideal family hauler.

Key to family safety, C4 Picasso includes the potentially life-saving inclusion of standard stability control, as well as traction control, anti-lock brakes, electronic brake-force distribution and emergency brake assist.

Citroën C4 Picasso scores a highest possible five-star Euro-NCAP safety rating.
