Our master spy photographers, Carparazzi, have snapped these images of Audi's new pocket rocket testing at Germany's famed Nürburgring.

The pictures bring credence to a recent report from Audi's board of management for technical development, Michael Dick, who says the four-ring brand is considering building a new RS3.

Power will come from Audi's 2.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine, as found under the bonnet of the TT-RS, which is capable of delivering 253kW/450Nm. That being the case, the Audi RS3 could return 0-100km/h times of around 4.6 seconds with a top speed as high as 288km/h.

There's no word on timing yet, but an inside tip says keep an eye out at Paris (the Paris Motor Show will be held in September this year).
