HONDA CITY

In a sign of the times, Honda has lowered prices for its small- and light-segment sedans

Honda has reassessed its pricing for its sedans in the small- and light-car VFACTS segments and made changes to enhance each model's market appeal. The Jazz-based City has come down in price by $500 and the larger Civic is also reduced in price by $2000.

Honda's new pricing strategy marks a response to the changing market in the post-GFC environment. Buyers are still expecting to twist the arms of their dealers for the best possible sale price on a new car -- even if it is already at the budget end of the market.

"The competitiveness in both the light and small car segments has intensified and the repositioning of both City and Civic pricing shows our determination to increase our market share in these vital segments," explained the company's General Manager Sales and Marketing, Stephen Collins in a press release issued today.

All the prices quoted below apply from August 1 and are manufacturer's list prices, not including on-road costs or dealer pre-delivery charge.
