Based on the entry-level ES model and available in both sedan and sportback body styles, the Lancer ACTiV is priced at $21,990 (manufacturer's list price, excluding on-road costs and dealer delivery charge), and includes a swag of extra equipment to tempt new car buyers.

The upgrades include a range of exterior items, such as 16-inch alloy wheels, side air dams, a rear spoiler, chrome exhaust tip, privacy glass, and a new ACTiV badge. The interior meanwhile benefits from added equipment such as hands-free Bluetooth phone connectivity and a leather steering wheel with audio and phone controls.

Mitsubishi Motors Australia expects the new model to be a hit with buyers thanks to the added features and drive-away pricing. The vice president of brand marketing for Mitsubishi Motors Australia, Paul Unerkov, stated: "The Lancer ES is already an extremely well appointed and popular vehicle.  The additional features available as standard increase the street presence and highlight the superior value of the ACTiV variant."

Power comes from Mitsubishi's tried-and-tested 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine, which develops 113kW/198Nm and is offered in both manual and automatic (CVT transmissions).

All Lancers have a five-star ANCAP safety rating, thanks to standard features such as stability control ABS, EBD, brake assist, seven airbags and a reinforced impact safety evolution (RISE) body.

Mitsubishi has confirmed that the new Lancer ACTiV model is on sale at dealerships nationwide, in the full range of Lancer colours.
