Nissan’s flagship Australian sedan, the Maxima 350 Ti, has been upgraded with new features that improve safety and passenger comfort without affecting pricing.
The company features its own take on adaptive headlights with a xenon system dubbed Adaptive Front Lighting System (AFS) that not only illuminates bends in the road ahead according to the angle at which the front wheels are turned, but also illuminates the road to the left when the car is stationary with the left hand indicator operating.
Nissan’s top Maxima also now comes with a side view camera mounted on the left-hand side rearview mirror that reveals the left-hand front wheel to assist in parking manoeuvres. The image is displayed on the car’s satellite navigation monitor.
And back-seat passengers benefit from a rear-window sunshade that is activated by a switch and de-activated to ensure maximum rear vision when reverse gear is selected.
Although these features do not appear on 250 ST-L and 350 ST-S Maximas, both of these now come with standard Bluetooth connectivity using steering wheel controls.
Nissan Maxima sales in Australia are steady at present with 1471 sold to date this year, compared to 1492 in 2010.
