Our editorial ‘voice’ comes with a new name – motoring.com.au

Australia’s number one online automotive business carsales.com Ltd has launched a new editorial brand: motoring.com.au. And in the days and weeks to come you’ll see more of it at carsales.com.au and the rest of the carsales network of sites…

Building on carsales’ existing editorial infrastructure, motoring.com.au will supply content to carsales.com.au and CarPoint.com.au. In addition motoring.com.au has launched its own site and even a magazine style iPad app.

carsales’ network of automotive websites is Australia’s largest and has featured editorial content almost since its inception. Indeed, editorial alone accounts for a significant proportion of the millions of unique visitors the network attracts every month.

motoring.com.au will champion the substantial library of carsales’ existing editorial content and expand upon it with a wider range of articles and content types.

carsales.com Ltd CEO and Managing Director Greg Roebuck stated motoring.com.au was an important evolution of carsales’ content spectrum.

“carsales.com Ltd is the country’s number one automotive resource. We have more cars for sale than all our nearest competitors combined and attract an audience far and away larger than any other network. It’s appropriate that our consumers are able to easily access and consume a wide range of information. In giving our editorial its own brand and flexibility we’re making sure this happens,” Roebuck explained.

carsales.com Ltd Editor-in-Chief, Mike Sinclair will head an expanded motoring.com.au editorial team.

“carsales.com Ltd sites have always enjoyed a very strong position in the classified marketplace but over the past five or six years we have also worked hard to establish the group’s editorial bona fides.

“We’re not going to short change our readers at carsales.com.au, CarPoint or our other sites in fact the arrival of motoring.com.au will increase the content available at all of our sites. But the establishment of motoring.com.au gives us a stronger identity to our editorial offer right across carsales’ network of sites.

“In terms of vehicle data, carsales.com Ltd’s Redbook business is the industry leader, motoring.com.au will fulfill the same role in the editorial space,” Sinclair said.
