Kia has revised its popular eight-seat Grand Carnival range with the introduction of two new engines and standard Bluetooth connectivity across the lineup.
Additionally, the Korean manufacturer has withdrawn the short wheelbase Carnival S, that model now replaced by the long wheelbase Grand Carnival S. The move takes the total number of Grand Carnival variants to four. Grand Carnival S joins the Grand Carnival Si, SLi and Platinum variants already available.
Key to the model revision is a pair of new engine offerings. A 3.5-litre V6 petrol replaces the previous 2.7, and in place of the outgoing 2.9-litre diesel is Kia's new 2.2-litre R-Series mill, developing 143kW/429Nm. As well as offering more power, the new engine is also more fuel efficient, with fuel consumption down by 3.7 per cent against its predecessor.
Transmissions on all model variants are also renewed with a six-speed automatic offered as standard across the range. New technology offerings see Bluetooth telephony offered as standard fitment on all Grand Carnival models, while the base model Si now adds roof rails, electric windows on all three rows, rear air conditioning controls and heated wing mirrors. Visually Grand Carnival Si also benefits from a new metal-look interior finish and, outside, 16-inch alloy wheels. All Grand Carnival models are equipped as standard with anti-lock brakes, stability control, traction control, front, side and curtain airbags.

The latest refresh has allowed us to add new technologies to the existing long list of features and maintain Grand Carnival's position as a great value people mover."
