AUDI RS4

Audi's new family race car spotted testing at the 'Ring

Carsales Network spy photographers Carparazzi have snapped the first images of the new Audi RS4 under test at Germany's famous Nürburgring.

Featuring all the 'go fast' parts synonymous with the famed RS badge, the test mule is seen sporting a new front bumper with enlarged air intakes, larger diameter brake rotors (complete with branded calipers), and 21-inch alloy wheels.

Our snappers tell us the widened wheel-houses seen on the engineering development vehicle will be replaced with wider guards once production commences.

Powering the all-new RS4 will likely by Audi's celebrated 4.2-litre V8, as currently found beneath the bonnet of the scintillating RS5. In that car, the engine develops 331kW/430Nm, or enough to crack the 0-100km/h sprint in 4.6 seconds.

It's expected the new RS4 will land in showrooms before the end of the year.
