Nissan will unveil its INVITATION design concept in Geneva early next month. An inspiration for a future compact hatchback to sell alongside the Micra, the INVITATION features safety technology the likes of Around View Monitor and Safety Shield.

In addition, it's expected to deliver sub-100g/km CO2 emissions in the most fuel-efficient variant, thanks to careful drivetrain and platform design. As a production car it is scheduled for launch in the UK next year, the manufacturer says.

“The name we have given to this concept is self-explanatory, ”said François Bancon, Nissan's Deputy Division General Manager of Product Strategy and Product Planning Division. “It is designed to be inviting thanks to its sensuous exterior design and generous and comfortable interior space, cleverly packaged within compact overall dimensions.”
