CLASSIC RED ROADSTER WITH 5 SPEED BOX
The Austin Healey 100, released in 1952, became an instant success with its stylish lines, sketched by Gerry Coker, these lines remained the styling basis for Big Healeys until production ceased in 1967. To many enthusiasts the original Austin Healey 100, powered by the 2660cc Austin 4 cylinder engine remains the purest of Donald Healey's creations.
Finished in gleaming Red, this BN1 has large eye appeal, with its lovely brightwork accented by the 60 Spoke chrome wire wheels, while the interior is smart in contrasting Tan, highlighted by a period style wood rim Moto-Lita steering wheel. The weather equipment consists of a tonneau cover, a soft top and side screens with storage bag, all in quality Black fabric.
Under bonnet improvements include Twin 1¾" SU Carburettors with ‘Lynx Ram-Flo’ air-filters, chrome rocker cover, alternator, cable throttle conversion, uprated ‘Ignition Development’ points distributor, long branch extractors, spin-on oil filter conversion, plastic fan and a hi-torque starter motor for easy and reliable starting.
This BN1 delivers good period performance, with its long stroke 4 cylinder engine coupled to the easy-to-use Toyota 5-speed gearbox, providing excellent, long-legged cruising ability and flexibility. The Healey is equally at home cruising the open road or winding its way through the hills and will produce an ear to ear grin.
