With gorgeous body design by Giorgetto Guigaro the Alfetta GTV6 will never be made again, the rear transaxle deDion suspension offers 50:50 weigh balance resulting in safe fast cornering, gripping the tarmac like the proverbial to a blanket. This suspension engineering filtered down from Afa Romeos Formular One racing. The front engined rear drive "piece de resistance" went on to win the European Touring Car Championship against BMW, Audi & Jaguar, 4 years in a row, also winning the BTCC, & wins in France, Italy, Australia.
If you haven't driven a great Busso V6 you haven't lived yet. Right now a narrow opportunity is open to acquire this stunningly engineered example.
A no expense spared and meticulous mechanical restoration of the legendary Busso V6 has been fettled, polished, and precision engineered by Alfa Romeo specialist Downie & Downie.
V6 motor restoration, new pistons, rings, bearings, cams, cam belt, water pump. Crank shaft machined, balanced and blueprinted, injection system recalibrated, dyno tuned and data reads 183hp at the rear wheels. Very strong motor with torque bias build. New fuel lines and electric fuel pump.
Gearbox and drive line restoration, with LSD differential.
New :-
Iso-static linkage, synchro's and selector forks.
Balanced clutch.
Front and rear drive shafts.
Rubber donuts and centre bearing.
Master and slave cylinder.
Front and rear wheel bearings.
Exhaust.
New OKP Germany exhaust system. "Some say, the noise it makes doesn't just send a tingle down your spine, it tingles the tingle".
Suspension
Rebuilt for fast road, new Koni Sport shocks, new spherical joint Watts Link, for enhanced turn-in, throttle steer. New front springs and anti-roll bar.
New drop spindles, & knuckle risers. Rear bushes, many and various renewed.
Brakes
New master cylinder and slaves rebuilt, new rotors, pads with high end hydraulic fluid. All 4 calipers and reseals rebuilt.
Steering
New caster rods and bushes, new steering wheel in to be installed
Cooling System
New radiator, water pumps & hoses.
Body Work
This Alfetta was a barn find in South Australia, so very little rust.
External body fully stripped, rust removed and new steel welded and polished.
All cavities fish oiled
Two pack epoxy enamel.
New door rubbers, body trim clips
Bumpers treated with plastic revive
Engine bay re painted sans engine.
Original glass and interior
Two sets of keys
Wife says sell, but I'm yet to be convinced, sadly up for sale due to ill health.
