Rare Manual Convertible – Low Kms, Fully Refreshed & Pit-Passed!
Up for sale is our 2001 Renault Megane Expression Soft Top. Featuring the reliable 1.6L engine and a rare 5-speed manual transmission, this has been an absolute labour of love and drives beautifully.
With only 128,000 km on the clock, this car has exceptionally low kilometres for its age and is mechanically sorted from top to bottom.
The Story & Recent Mechanical Overhaul:
This car was originally an automatic, but we meticulously converted it to a manual transmission so my son could learn to drive. Because he has now decided it’s not for him, our loss is your gain.
While performing the conversion, we had the engine out and completed a comprehensive, top-to-bottom mechanical refresh. Every major service item was replaced during the build to ensure total reliability. It recently went over the pits and passed registration with absolutely zero issues.
Brand New Parts Fitted During the Build:
• Timing belt & Fan belt
• Fresh Fluids: Engine oil, Gearbox oil, Coolant, & Brake fluid
• Fresh Filters: Oil filter, Fuel filter, & Air filter
Current Condition:
• Roof: Fully operational electric soft-top with no leaks.
• Consumables: Tyres, brakes, and the new clutch all have plenty of life left.
• Electrical: Everything inside and out works exactly as it should.
This is a fantastic, quirky weekend cruiser or an ideal first car that has had countless hours of time, care, and love poured into it. We will be very sad to see her go.
Note: Registration is due soon. If not sold prior, I will be putting a fresh 3 months of rego on it for the buyer.
