Overview
There's been a rationalisation of the S40 with 2.5T power and five-speed auto range-wide. While it shares the same four-year-old platform as Ford's Focus and the Mazda 3, it still holds up well stylistically and dynamically. The interior is well thought out, uncluttered, inviting and distinctly Volvo. High safety equipment levels include ABS, eight airbags, stability/traction control, electronic brake force distribution and front pre-tensioning seat belts. Newly added are dedicated daylight running lights and Emergency Brake Light (EBL) system which strobes the brake lights under severe braking. A new wealth of options includes a blind spot warning system (BLIS).
