Overview
KIA has been vying for market share in the mid-sized 'classy' four-door slot for over a decade now, with little success. The pleasantly styled Optima Platinum changes all that, coming with an impressive array of credentials fit for something wholly a lot more dollars. Being a single model it's kitted out to the extent where the only option is "Prestige Paint". Tuning the suspension for local conditions and mating the 2.4-litre petrol to a newly developed six-speed auto gives it a drivability not experienced before. All this and a five-year/unlimited kms warranty make it a compelling package.
