Replacing the CLK (Kompressor), the turbocharged petrol E250 Coupe immediately shows advances in power and fuel consumption. All models now run the 7G-Tronic auto, replacing the original 5-speed. The new chassis, based on the W204 C class, also offers more interior leg and headroom all round. In typical manner, safety levels have been thrust into the stratosphere, with all the expected passive and active systems plus a raft of pre-emptive arrangements that prepare the interior when imminent disaster looms.
