Overview
Little did we know the Passat was the marker for just about everything that has come from VW when introduced nearly 40 years back. Now in its seventh generation it represents the company's overall philosophy towards passenger cars. From the front wheel drive turbopetrol or turbodiesel to the AWD 4-Motion with its 3.6-litre petrol V6, there's the sedan, wagon and four-door coupe - all with DSG autos and offering good value and sound motoring. The new look, extending from the conservative yet stylish exterior, to the freshened interior, is an affirmation of that philosophy. As ever, safety is paramount, with all bases covered.
