In anybody's language, 2.1L/100km is an oily-rag figure, while 49g/km is something for a future ultra-low emission vehicle and a claimed zero to 100km/h in 4.4 seconds is normally achievable only by the fastest road cars. Obviously there's a price to be paid: At its 2015 launch, the i8 was tagged at $299,000 before on-road costs. If you are a Porsche, Ferrari or Lamborghini buyer and an early-adopter, maybe that's in the ballpark.
