One of the last 3.0lt off the line, it has one owner and has done most of its kilometres on the highway.
It has an extra baby seat tie-down point with an engineer plate for those needing three baby seats fitted when new. Twins with a one-year-old, you will need that...
Upgrades
The motor has been serviced every 10k by a diesel mechanic, not an apprentice or Toyota. I often drop the oils, clean the K&N filter and change the diesel and oil filters before going on a trip, even if it is not due.
In 2022, I had it remapped to a stage one towing spec. As part of the upgrade, the clutch and gearbox were both upgraded. The exhaust system was replaced with a Beaudesert system, and an EVO throttle controller and catch can were added.
Brakes were also done this year.
It tows a 16’ caravan well.
Full service completed 6/12/2024
New Falken Wildpeak A/T AT3W 265/70 R17 fitted for RWC
New Windscreen fitted for RWC
RWC – completed and passed 6/12/2024
Kings springs, Bilstein shocks, and an extra leaf were added for towing. Also, giving a 50mm lift.
It is a nice ride, even empty.
Nudge bar
Tow bar & Hayman Recee electric brake controller fitted.
Fyre Light spotties were recently sent back for a complete refurbishment and upgrade to their latest specs. They are bright as hell but are a soft light and great for overnight runs up or down the highway. Spare replacement glass is included.
Exterior
Rust proofing and paint protection were done after leaving the factory. It has also had multiple coats of Tectyl 504 over the years for added protection. The paint has had a coat of Festool 11000 high gloss polish, then a coat of ceramic sealant applied every six to eight months and is in good condition. But not perfect. This 4x4 has been used on the beach and in the bush, so it has the marks you would expect but no structural rust, panel or underbody damage.
It doesn’t have a snorkel, as there is no chance I would ever be driving through water.
Interior
Vinyl floor, CB, comfy cloth seats, power windows, window tinting and air conditioning.
The general interior is tidy with the marks you can expect from three boys growing up in the back seat.
The radio works, but the screen is cracked. One of the boys put a coin in the CD player, and I cracked it, getting it out.
I have never gotten around to replacing it.
Canopy
The canopy setup is for touring completely off-grid.
It has a 90 or 120lt slim line water tank fitted to the headboard that is plumb to external breathers.
Jocolla hot tap instant gas hot water system is also plumbed to the tank via an inline water pump.
Redark battery isolator
Two Kickass 170 or 190 amp/hr slimline agm batteries
Kickass MTTP controller
Circuit breaker protection
360w solar panel
LED white and amber lighting with dimmers and connection to add more.
Two USB and one cigarette charge points at the back.
Three Engle lock-in cig points for three Ingle fridges
Anderson connection for whatever.
All wiring is marine-grade tinned.
Endless aircraft tie-down strips to secure everything.
Rubber matting
Kings awning
Removable ally slide on table with ply top.
Fold down Arial mounted to the top of the canopy.
Rear mounted spotlights
Most importantly, there is a stubbie opener on the back of the canopy.
The canopy was set up for going away fishing for a while. The battery system runs three 40-lt Engle fridge freezers.
The Engle in the pictures is not included, but everything else is.
