Abarth 124 Spider – Beautifully Presented, Tastefully Modified & Exceptionally Reliable
For sale is my much-loved and beautifully presented Abarth 124 Spider.
I purchased the car in late 2017 with approximately 19,000 km on the clock, from its one previous owner. I loved everything about the car, but always felt the performance was a little underwhelming. So, I set about meticulously and tastefully developing the car into what I felt it should have been from the factory.
I have invested a considerable amount of time, research and money into creating a car that delivers genuinely impressive performance while retaining exceptional reliability. I originally planned to take it to the track, but it was simply too nice, and I couldn't bring myself to do it!
Instead, it has been used primarily as our holiday car, along with plenty of spirited drives on country backroads. It has been absolutely trouble-free, and we have never thought twice about taking it anywhere.
It actually outperformed my Lotus, so I sold the Lotus!
The reason for the sale is simply that we have moved into the next stage of our lives and are looking forward to doing a few more extended road trips. As much as we love the Abarth, we have replaced it with something slightly larger, giving us a little more room for luggage while still being fast, fun and enjoyable to drive.
I'm closing in on 60 (although certainly not too old to still have some fun!), so you can be assured this isn't some boy-racer build. The car has been modified with a focus on performance, reliability and drivability, rather than simply chasing numbers.
I've thoroughly enjoyed owning and driving this car, but as the photos demonstrate—and its impeccable service history confirms—it remains in exceptional condition. It is ready for someone else to enjoy for many years to come.
