THE BEST PRICED RS for the low km, condition and service history!
Time has come for me to sell (sadly) my beautiful 2017 Focus RS.
Car bought from dealer in Jan 2020 (odo 9,916km), and I'm the 2nd owner.
I've always kept the car in a lock-up garage, out of direct sun as much as possible, never been involved in an accident, serviced on-time by Sinclair Ford in Kingswood (they're exceptional!) and cared for the car regularly, including oil and filter changes every ~7,500km.
The car is lightly modified, thus:
MECHANICAL
K&N air filter – free breathing from idle to redline
Silicone inlet elbow connector – uniform shape to improve gas flow into the engine, replacing the cheap and turbulent flow of the standard ribbed part
Mountune inlet pipe to intercooler – uniform pipe to improve gas flow, replacing the weird/cheap plastic standard part.
Custom exhaust pipe repair – a mod I had done to greatly improve exhaust gas flow, replacing the stupid standard flattened pipe near the centre bearing
The 4 above mods were done to improve gas flow into/out of the engine for maximum efficiency, improving power and economy. I then had the car dyno tuned by Targa Tasmania winners, Pulse Racing in Menai. The car retains standard tune in Normal mode, but tune is improved in Sport, Track and Drift modes. See pics for dyno readout results, noting the numbers are relative only, not absolute. I can confirm the car pulls hard and clean all the way to redline!
I’ve never used Launch Control, or let the engine lug from low rpm, nor have I ever used more than a gentle 1/3 throttle until the engine oil is up to full working temperature. I’ve always allowed the car to have a cool-down run before switching the motor off, great for the engine, drive train and brakes. I have had one track day at Eastern Creek, in white group (beginner), more to be able to open her up without fear of losing my license! The car performed brilliantly, and still has all original brakes rotors and pads, plus rear tyres since I bought it – I’m a strong believer of smooth driving and mechanical sympathy.
COSMETIC
TEC Speedwheel GT Evo-R wheels (5) – I chose these for their correct geometry, great looks, light weight and ease of cleaning. Found on a website from Germany (home of the RS), I had them specially imported into Australia. One wheel is a full sized spare, wrapped in a Michelin Pilot Super Sport tyre, like the rear tyres, with plenty of tread
Billet aluminium gear knob
Dash mat
RS gel badges – on the rear spoiler and dash mat
Extra sound deadening in hatch area – I fitted a X-Force exhaust but found it too loud, so I added sound deadening to try and drop noise levels. It didn’t work, so I sold the exhaust, but decided to keep the sound deadening, as it improved the NVH (noise, vibration, harshness) from the rear of the car, making the car a lot more relaxed to drive. The pops from the exhaust still can be heard though! The deadening can be removed if you choose to.
Front bumper full respray – to repair gutter damage under left fog light from first owner
Other Pros:
Rego to 14 Apr 2027 and Green Slip to 15 Apr 2027
45,000km Level A service already done in Aug 2025, on the recommendation of Sinclair Ford.
New Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tyres fitted to front wheels Jul 2022 at 32,162km, so plenty of tread left.
Car built in July 2017, so has the updated head gasket.
Always filled with 98 fuel.
There is no finance owing and comes with 2 keys.
Standard parts (except wheels) will also come with the car when sold.
Reason for sale is that I don’t drive the RS enough; it never fails to make me smile and is one of the quickest A to B cars you can get for the money.
I want the RS to go to someone who will appreciate the car like I have. I will do the initial part of any test drive and will/won’t allow anyone to drive the car at my discretion.
There are literally no financial outgoings for the new owner, so just jump in and enjoy!
