BFB GT-Line Hatchback 5dr EDC 7sp 1.2T (Mar) Available as a hatch or wagon, Renault's Megane is, apart from the 151kW/280Nm 1.6-litre GT, largely powered by a 97kW/205Nm 1.2-litre four-cylinder turbo engine driving mostly through a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. Only the base Life model offers a six-speed manual gearbox. The Megane brings a decent-size cabin, and hatch versions provide up to 1247 litres of seats-folded luggage space " the wagon even more at 1504 litres. Among its peers " Volkswagen Golf, Mazda3, Hyundai i30 " the Renault is a strong contender with its on-road manners, competitive pricing and decent equipment levels, including climate control and keyless start.
