The B9 RS4’s 2.9L twin-turbo V6 is one of Audi’s best modern performance platforms.
Factory rated at 331kW (450hp) and 600Nm, the EA839 2.9 TFSI uses a hot-V twin-turbo configuration, delivering incredibly fast response and huge mid-range torque. Paired with quattro AWD and the 8-speed Tiptronic, it gives the RS4 effortless performance in virtually any conditions.

What really sets the 2.9TT apart is its tuning potential. The factory calibration leaves plenty on the table, with relatively simple ECU/TCU tuning capable of unlocking a substantial increase in power and torque without needing to fundamentally change the car. With supporting intake, exhaust and cooling upgrades, the platform can be taken considerably further.
It’s also an engine that gives you the best of both worlds. Around town it’s smooth, quiet and completely usable. Open it up and the combination of instant boost, strong top-end and quattro traction makes the RS4 seriously quick.
Compared with the previous naturally aspirated V8, the 2.9TT is lighter, produces significantly more torque and has dramatically more performance potential.
