The 10 millionth Camry built worldwide has rolled off Toyota Australia's Altona (Vic) line. The car, resplendent in 2006 Commonwealth Games livery, was presented by Toyota president Ted Okada and the Victorian premier Steve Bracks to Australian Opals basketball team captain Lauren Jackson and Games chairman, Ron Walker.
"As part of its sponsorship agreement with the Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games, the 10 millionth Camry will be the first vehicle of up to 1500 vehicles for use by athletes, officials, staff and the Games family," Mr Bracks said.
Toyota Australia President Ted Okada said: "Toyota Australia is delighted to give something back to the Victorian community through our sponsorship of the Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games as well as that of the AFL and the Australian Paralympic Team.
"This 10 millionth Camry emulates the efforts and support of employees, suppliers and Government and it is fitting that this milestone vehicle be delivered to a very special customer and one who is integral to the world's view of Melbourne in 2006," Mr Okada said.
