
While the new Kia Cerato and Soul generating a lot of buzz for the improving South Korean car maker, the company's leading trooper, the big-selling Rio, has come in for an update. Given it's position as the brand's biggest selling model locally Kia bosses will be hoping the new look is well recieved.
Webiste Kia-world.net has uncovered images of the new Rio (badged as the Pride in its domestic market) a month before it's due to hit the streets of Seoul. The 2010-model Rio sports a more modern exterior design than its predecessor, as you'd expect given the current car dates back to 2005.
The new Rio shows off a redesigned front end, incorporating a new look front apron with a larger, more sporty lower air dam. It also makes use of Kia's new corporate face, which is comprised of the new 'H' grille.
Revised fog lights complete the picture at the front end, but the flanks of the car appears to be largely unchanged with its flared wheel arches and horizontal shoulder line carried over from the current model.
Change have reportdely also carried over to the interior, with a revised central console featuring new HVAC controls, a new steering wheel and subtle changes to the instrument cluster. Bluetooth connectivity is also expected to become available.
