2014 Bentley Flying Spur leaked

Leaked images of premium marque's four-door limousine reveal subtle new look

First official images of the 2014 Bentley Continental Flying Spur have been leaked ahead of the car’s official launch.

After a carefully orchestrated drip-feed campaign to build hype around the fresh-faced Flying Spur luxury sedan, which will make its public debut at the 2013 Geneva motor show, it's now clear from the leaked images that the new Spur is an evolutionary update rather than a major overhaul.

The images were leaked today by a Russian website.

Influenced by Bentley's latest two-doors, the Flying Spur's subtle new look takes the vehicle in a sportier direction, highlighted by slightly more streamlined front-end design.

The roofline appears to have been tweaked and Bentley has also updated the prestige limousine's rump -- which now boasts horizontally aligned brake lights juxtaposed with oval exhaust pipes. This move is in step with comments made by Bentley's former exterior design chief David Hilton.

Minor changes to the car's mirrors and doorhandles round out the updates, while the interior gets more high-tech toys -- particularly for rear seat passengers.

Power for the new model is likely to reflect the two-door Continental GT's engine line-up, which comprises a 423kW/700Nm 6.0-litre W12 and 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 that bangs out 373kW/660Nm.

If Bentley does offer the new V8 engine as expected, it would give the luxury brand a new price leader, based on the almost $40,000 disparity between the W12 and V8 GT coupes currently available in Australia.

The 2012 model W12-powered Flying Spur is priced at around $375,000, which could see the new V8-powered Flying Spur retail for $335,000.

Stay tuned for the official details on the Bentley Flying Spur tomorrow.
