2015 BMW 3 Series enhanced

BMW has announced significant new features for all models in the best-selling 3 Series range for 2015.  

In celebration of its 40th anniversary, the 3 Series scores Digital Radio, BMW ConnectedDrive, surround view parking aids and a head-up display that will be standard on all models now, along with a reversing camera, proximity sensors front and rear, plus a lane change warning system.

Mid and top-spec variants benefit from Adaptive M Suspension and other assortments, which are listed below. However the adjustment in specification has seen some price rises of up to $1000 on the 3 Series sedan and up to $3100 on the Touring (wagon) models.

The BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo's prices have been cut, with up to $3000 hacked off their list prices.

Shawn Ticehurst, BMW Group Australia's head of product and market planning, said the 3 Series is getting special treatment in 2015 to mark its 40th birthday.

"This enhanced BMW 3 Series line-up now stands as the most comprehensive update we've released on any range in recent times, with fresh inclusions as standard across a host of areas, including safety and technological innovations," he said.

"This exceptional level of substance and value affirms the BMW 3 Series as a compelling proposition in anyone's language."

Despite upward price adjustments on some models, Ticehurst says the additions amount to around $8000 worth of extra value.

"We think it's a good birthday present for the 3 Series' 40th birthday," said Ticehurst, who hinted that we'll see something special to mark the anniversary.

"We'll do more with it in the year, but it's a great way to kick it off," he added.
