German BMW tuner Alpina has revealed pricing and specification for its B3 S and B4 S BiTurbo range.
Due to arrive in Australian showrooms this month, the new additions are based on BMW’s regular 3 Series and 4 Series ranges, scoring additional equipment and materials and notable power upgrades over the donor cars.
Available on the existing B3 sedan and wagon and B4 coupe and convertible introduced to Australia last year, the S model raises the power of both car’s standard twin-turbo 3.0-litre straight-six from 301kW/600Nm to a more muscular 324kW/660Nm.
Against the clock, the B4 Biturbo S is now capable of hitting 100km/h, from standstill, in just 4.2 seconds – 0.4 seconds quicker than the standard car. The B3 S takes 4.3 seconds.
Top speed has also risen from 278km/h (for the coupe) to a supercar-bothering 306km/h.
The new S model is identified over the standard car thanks to a tweaked front and rear bumpers, new LED head- and fog lamps and redesigned LED rear tail lamps.
S models wear 20-inch Alpina Classic alloy wheels and sport a stainless steel exhaust system with quad outlets, rear spoiler, Merino leather trim, electrically adjustable sports seats and front and rear parking sensors.
The B3 S BiTurbo sedan kicks off at $142,900 plus on-road costs, while the B4 S BiTurbo coupe starts at $149,900 plus on-road costs. Higher up the food chain resides the B3 S BiTurbo wagon ($149,900 plus ORCs) and the B4 S BiTurbo convertible ($159,900 plus ORCs).
