Maserati has announced a round of mild tweaks for its Ghibli passenger car.
Restructured for 2018 to include three trim grades – base, GranLusso and GranSport – the Italian range gets a mild makeover comprising exterior tweaks, a reduction in drag co-efficient, and the inclusion of more safety equipment thanks to the installation of a familiar power steering package.
The facelifted portfolio continues to comprise a 3.0-litre V6 turbo-diesel bringing 202kW and 600Nm of torque. Further up the range is a 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 petrol bringing 257kW and 500Nm, and a meatier S version of the same engine with 321kW and 580Nm.
All engines send drive to the rear wheels via an eight-speed automatic.

, S versions of the Ghibli now get the marque’s Advanced Driving Assistance System (ADAS) suite as standard – the same as that found on the Levante SUV. The package bundles automated emergency braking, highway assist, lane keeping assist, active blind spot assist and traffic sign recognition.On standard diesel V6 and petrol V6 Ghiblis, the ADAS kit is an added extra.
Elsewhere, equipment the base Ghibli now includes bi-xenon headlights, quad exhaust outlets, limited-slip differential, a new electric power steering system and an 8.4-inch touchscreen.
The Ghibli GranLusso adds LED headlights, 19-inch alloy wheels and added exterior flourishes, along with soft-close doors, comfort seats with 12-way power adjustment, parking sensors, a Bowers and Wilkins stereo and electrically lockable glove box.
The Ghibli GranSport differentiates itself with red brake callipers, body colour side skirts and a re-worked front bumper, along with a revised Skyhook suspension system, 21-inch wheels, sports steering wheel, shifter paddles and a Harmon Kardon stereo.
The 2018 Maserati Ghibli range is available in Australian showrooms now.
