2018 Toyota LandCruiser Prado facelift leaked

This is your first unofficial look at the 2018 Toyota Prado.

Images and details of Toyota’s evergreen off-roader have appeared online, purporting to reveal a new design and re-worked interior.

Leaked via social media, the grainy shots appear to be taken from a Japanese brochure of the LandCruiser Prado. Reports suggest the replacement model will be unveiled in Japan on September 12, however Toyota Australia has declined to comment.

Key changes over the current 150-Series include a re-designed front end, including new details across the headlights, bonnet, grille and front bumper. At the back, the Prado’s rear bumper has received a light styling makeover and the tail lights have been subtly re-worked.

There are also some evolutionary changes inside the cabin, including across the dashboard centre fascia and driver instrument cluster.

Rumours suggest the Japanese market Prado will introduce a suite of new safety technology including automated emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane departure warning with steering assistance, automatic high beam lights and adaptive cruise control.

If the September unveiling materialises, Australian customers could expect the Prado in the early months of 2018.

The current 150-Series Prado first appeared in November 2009 before a facelift in November 2013. Its last round of work comprised an engine update in August 2015, suggesting the timeline for a 2018 update is correct.
