Audi Australia has released pricing and specification information for the 2019 Audi A5 quattro Coupe and A5 quattro Cabriolet, which go on sale this month.
The headline news for both A5 models is a reduction in list price – to the order of $2800 - despite an additional $9000 worth of standard equipment.
The A5 45 TFSI quattro Coupe now starts at $78,900 (plus on-road costs), while the A5 45 TFSI quattro Cabriolet starts at $92,400 (plus on-road costs).
Both 45 TFSI models employ a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine good for 185kW and 340Nm, sending drive to all four wheels via a seven-speed dual clutch automatic.
Standard equipment over the outgoing car includes the S line exterior package, 19-inch alloy wheels, memory seats and mirrors, wireless phone charging, heated front seats, and dual rear USB ports.
Safety has likewise improved for 2019, thanks to lane-keeping assist, high-beam assist, adaptive cruise control with traffic jam assist, along with parking assist and a 360-degree camera.
As before, the 2019 Audi A5 range is anchored by the 40 TFSI entry model, which starts at $70,100 (plus on-road costs) in Coupe form and $83,600 (plus on-road costs) as a Cabriolet.
The A5 Sportback has a welcome success story for Audi Australia, with sales finishing 3.9 per cent higher year-to-date at the end of the July in the face of a 32.7 per cent slump for the car-maker across the board generally.
