2019 Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace spec confirmed

Volkswagen’s new seven-seat Tiguan SUV to be available with five engine choices

Volkswagen Australia has announced specification details for the Tiguan Allspace, the marque’s new seven-seat mid-size SUV.

Fitted with what VW calls a 5+2 seating layout, the Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace touches down in Australian showrooms from July, 2018. The big unknown remains the vehicle’s price – particularly how far it deviates from the regular Tiguan’s $31,990 staring figure – though Volkswagen says it will outline those details closer to launch.

The Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace will be offered with a choice of five different engines.

The entry-level 110TSI comprises a front-driven 110kW/250Nm petrol engine, paired with a six-speed dual clutch transmission.

All other engines employ Volkswagen’s 4Motion all-wheel drive system with a seven-speed dual clutch automatic. The 132TSI produces 132kW and 320Nm while the 162TSI makes a familiar 162kW/350Nm combination.

On the diesel front, the Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace will be offered in 110TDI (110kW/340Nm) and 140TDI (140kW/400Nm) forms.

Volkswagen Australian will offer the Tiguan Allspace in two grades: Comfortline and Highline. All vehicles boast as standard: autonomous emergency braking (city speed), parking assist, reversing camera and front and rear parking sensors.

The entry spec Comfortline comprises keyless entry and start, 8.0-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, three USB points, three-zone climate control, automatic LED headlights, rain-sensing wipers and 18-inch alloys.

The Highline grade get adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, rear-cross traffic alert, 19-inch wheels and adaptive suspension, while inside there’s a larger 9.2-inch touch screen with hard-wired sat-nav, leather trim, electrically-adjusted front seats and heated seating for the first two rows.

Volkswagen has also announced a slew of optional packages targeting the Tiguan Allspace’s interior fitout, audio system and outright sportiness.

Pricing will be confirmed in full closer to the seven-seater’s slated July launch.
