2020 Hyundai IONIQ pricing revealed

Updated electrified hatchback range scores fresh looks, larger infotainment display and greater EV range

Hyundai Australia has released pricing and specification details for the updated Hyundai IONIQ range, which is now on sale ahead of its launch on November 1.

The 2020 Hyundai IONIQ line-up will once again comprise Hybrid, Plug-in Hybrid and Electric models, with pricing ranging from $34,790 to $52,490 (plus on-road costs) – an increase of between $800 and $4000 depending on the model and variant.

Visual changes are headlined by revised bumpers and accents, new alloy wheel designs and LED lighting front and rear (the latter only on Electric and Premium models).

Inside, there’s a larger 10.25-inch infotainment system as standard and softer materials.

The range is anchored by the Ioniq Hybrid Elite ($34,790 plus on-road costs), which teams a 1.6-litre petrol four-cylinder with an electric motor to produce 104kW and 265Nm, bringing a claimed fuel consumption average of 3.4L/100km.

The entry model gets the new 10.25-inch infotainment system as standard, along with 15-inch alloy wheels, dual-zone climate control, eight-speaker sound system, keyless entry and start, plus driver aids including autonomous emergency braking with pedestrian detection, blind spot monitoring, lane keep assist and high beam assist.

The Hybrid Premium starts at $39,990 (plus on-road costs) and adds front parking sensors, 17-inch alloy wheels, adaptive cruise control, lane following assist, leather-appointed seats, wireless phone charging, glass sunroof, heated and ventilated front seats, alloy pedals, rain sensing wipers and an electric park brake.

Meanwhile, the IONIQ Electric now employs an upgraded EV system to bring 311km of range on the WLTP cycle (373km on our NEDC rating) against 293km on the predecessor. The EV system’s battery pack is rated at 38.3kWh and motor at 100kW/295Nm.
