Mitsubishi has revealed a new-look Mirage in Thailand ahead of the hatchback’s Australian arrival in the second quarter of 2020.
The updated Mirage adopts styling cues (read: Mitsubishi’s Dynamic Shield front fascia) from the Triton ute, Pajero Sport and ASX, lending the Japanese car-maker’s smallest offering sharper exterior lines.
Pricing for the 2020 Mirage is yet to be confirmed; the Mirage hatch is currently available in three variants priced from $13,990.
Unlike other markets, Australia is set to again take the hatchback version of the Mirage only.
“The styling sweeps round from the sides toward the middle of the nose in a protective embrace,” Mitsubishi said in a release. “This and the square grille lines with its horizontal/vertical bar pattern, give the front end a more powerful and sharper look.”
The new look is punctuated by LED combination headlights which team with fog lamps located at the lower bumper corners, while at the rear, there is a squarer appearance with L-signature horizontal LED combination lamps.
The Mirage rides on new-design 15-inch alloy wheels. New colours for 2020 include White Diamond and Sand Yellow.
Inside, there are new newly designed front armrests, a new seat design, and a 7.0-inch touch-screen complete with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Mitsubishi is yet to confirm driveline details, but expect an unchanged 1.2-litre petrol engine producing 57kW/100Nm.
The Mirage is currently Australia's third-best selling micro-car, with 505 sales so far this year (compared with the Kia Picanto's 4788 and Fiat 500's 600 sales).
