Aston Martin is giving itself a pat on the back for its recent Formula 1 successes by debuting a new special-edition version of its DBX707 flagship SUV.
Officially dubbed the 2023 Aston Martin DBX707 AMR23 Edition, the new limited-edition SUV has been designed to celebrate the Aston Martin Aramco Cognizant F1 Team’s string of podiums so far this championship season.
As such, it brandishes a series of cosmetic upgrades inspired by both the British car-maker’s Formula 1 racer and official medical car.
Finished in a bespoke Podium Green exterior paint colour and proudly displaying a unique Q by Aston Martin badge on its front wings, the DBX707 AMR23 Edition’s green theme is continued by Aston Martin Racing Green brake callipers and body kit accents, the latter of which match the interior stitching.
Said stitching contrasts against a black and green interior colour scheme emphasised by carbon-fibre veneer and ‘jewellery’.
AMR23-branded scuff plates round out the changes and are designed “to leave occupants in no doubt of the Aston Martin racing bloodline”.
Propelling this celebratory green and black special-edition is all the same hardware you’ll find on a standard Aston Martin DBX707 hyper-SUV, meaning outputs of 520kW/900Nm from of an AMG-sourced twin-turbo 4.0-litre V8, resulting in a 0-100km/h time of 3.3 seconds to match the Ferrari Purosangue, Lamborghini Urus Performante and Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT.
Under the skin is a host of upgrades over the standard DBX including a new nine-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, carbon-ceramic brakes, upgraded limited-slip differential, revamped suspension, enhanced drive modes, retuned electric power steering, new adaptive damper valving and tweaked active roll control parameters.
Combine all these features with the unique colourway and spec of the AMR23 Edition and you’re left with what Aston Martin describes as a new level of intensity in the high-performance SUV world.
“The AMR23 Edition takes the DBX707 to a new level of intensity, creating a stand-out ultra-luxury SUV with incredible road presence,” said the brand’s head of product and market strategy, Alex Long.
“It is a real pleasure to offer this special edition in celebration of the recent successes of our Formula 1 team.
“We are successfully competing at the pinnacle of world motorsport and this represents a key pillar in our brand and product strategy for our road cars.”
Australian pricing for the special-edition DBX is yet to confirmed, but first examples of the AMR23 are due to arrive here in the final quarter of this year.
