The new 2023 BMW X3 xDrive30i Sport Collection has been confirmed to arrive in Australia later this month and the special-edition mid-size premium SUV will bring a bunch of new and exclusive gear to the mid-range version of BMW’s top-selling model, priced from $109,900 drive-away.
Priced some $12,000 above the regular X3 xDrive30i – but with on-road costs bundled into the asking price – BMW’s latest Sport Collection model variant will be limited to 350 vehicles and will offer “optimised equipment” including three metallic paint colours, a glass sunroof, 16-speaker harman/kardon sound system and heated front seats with lumbar support.
The M Carbon Black, Mineral White or M Brooklyn Grey exterior colours are matched with a unique double-spoke design for the two-tone ‘787’ 20-inch alloys to help the xDrive30i Sport stand apart from its mainstream counterpart and emphasise its exclusivity.
No changes have been made to any of the X3’s mechanicals, meaning the 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine still outputs 185kW/350Nm and still drives all four wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission.
It’s a similar story for the rest of the equipment list. Beyond the additions mentioned above, the xDrive30i’s standard kit carries over, with highlights including the M Sport package, adaptive suspension, Vernasca leather upholstery, head-up display, dual 12-3-inch displays, automatic tailgate, Comfort Access, ‘M Aluminium Rhombicle Dark Black’ high-gloss interior trim and power-adjustable front seats.
The X3 is the sixth BMW model to join the Sport Collection brigade, following the 1 Series, 2 Series, 3 Series, X1 and X2, all of which offer an exclusive specification sheet and were offered in limited quantities.
