2023 Hennessey Venom F5 Revolution unleashed

Lightest Hennessey Venom F5 yet pumps out a huge 1355kW and has track-honed handling and aero

Texas hypercar-maker and tuning house Hennessey Performance has unveiled the 2023 Hennessey Venom F5 Revolution Coupe – a lighter, track-focused version of the Venom F5 set to rival other road-legal extreme speed machines like the McLaren Senna.

Priced at $US2.7 million (($A3.9m), the Hennessey Venom F5 Revolution Coupe is based heavily on the near-500km/h Venom F5 that is claimed to have a top speed approaching 500km/h.

Like the F5 coupe, the track version is based around a full carbon-fibre monocoque tub and is powered by a 6.6-litre turbocharged V8 that pumps out an incredible 1355kW and 1618Nm of torque.

Channelling its power to the rear wheels via a seven-speed automated manual transmission, Hennessey says engineering work has focused on reducing mass from the F5 coupe’s already lithe 1360kg kerb weight, although the exact number of kilos cut has not been revealed.

Boosting on-track performance are substantial changes to the hypercar’s body that include a new front splitter and the introduction of dive planes on either corner.

A roof scoop, meanwhile, is said to jet higher volumes of air into the engine bay for better cooling.

A huge rear wing has also been invited to the party, generating more than 360kg at speeds of up to 300km/h and almost 640kg at 400km/h, according to Hennessey.

Full performance figures have yet to be released for the Venom F5 Revolution, but top speed is likely to have been compromised by the aero add-ons and the apex-hunting Hennessey is unlikely to come anywhere close to the 437.1km/h the standard car clocked last year in the US.

Other mechanical upgrades added to enhance its abilities on circuit include new transmission calibration, a different suspension set-up that includes adjustable dampers and wider forged alloy wheels.

Inside, a new on-board telemetry package has also been added that includes extra displays for live data and can record all circuit data, including lap times and g-force.

The coupe is limited to just 24 units, but a roadster version based on the hard-core Venom P5 Revolution could follow.
