The new 2024 Aston Martin DB12 Volante will make its official debut at the annual Monterey Car Week in Pebble Beach, California, on August 18.
Timed to coincide with Aston Martin’s 110th anniversary, the Aston Martin DB12 Volante convertible will line up alongside the recently-revealed Valour retro super-coupe and the Valhalla plug-in hybrid hypercar.
As per the DB12 coupe, the drop-top will be powered by a Mercedes-AMG-sourced twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 that will deliver a heroic 500kW and 800Nm of torque.
Like the coupe, drive will be sent to the rear wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission that manages its torque across the rear axle via an electronic rear differential.
Despite packing a little more weight with extra bracing needed with the roof removal and the addition of an electric motor to peel back the canvas weatherproofing, the DB12 Volante should come close to matching the 3.6 seconds it takes the coupe to sprint from 0-100km/h.
Top speed should be around 325km/h.
Inside, the DB12 Volante will come equipped with the car-maker’s latest in-house-developed 10.25-inch infotainment system that offers 3D mapping, live traffic and over-the-air updates.
There’s no word when the new Aston Martin DB12 Volante will arrive in Australia, but since the DB12 coupe isn’t set to land until late this year, a mid-2024 debut is anticipated.
Pricing for the DB12 Volante is expected to breach $500,000, with the coupe expected to start from about $450K.
