2024 Aston Martin DBX707 revealed with high-tech new cabin

Lamborghini Urus-slaying mega-SUV to become British brand’s only DBX variant following this model update

An all-new interior has been bestowed upon the Aston Martin DBX707, based around the British car-maker’s new-generation native infotainment system, and the high-performance flagship will become the only version of the big luxury SUV available globally when production and first deliveries commence in the second quarter of this year.

Aston Martin says the axing of lesser DBX variants is in response to overwhelming customer preference for the DBX707, while the new interior and infotainment system is intended to re-establish it atop the ‘ultra-luxury SUV’ segment with a cabin experience to match its performance credentials.

Just about every element of the cabin has been updated, from the door-pulls and steering wheel to the centre console, digital interfaces, air-vents and both dash and trim finishes.

Park, Reverse, Neutral and Drive are all now selected on the button-heavy centre console via a new toggle and button combination, in turn freeing up room to lower the height of the dash.

The new infotainment system has been developed entirely in-house and is accessed via a 10.25-inch touch-screen in the centre of the dash, while drivers will view a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster through the all-new steering wheel.

Audio is now played through a new 14-speaker premium sound system as standard; a 23-speaker Bowers & Wilkins system will be optionally available.

There have also been a couple of subtle exterior tweaks including new ‘presenting’ door-handles, flush-glass swivel-head door mirrors, an expanded colour palette and some new wheel finishes.

Other upgrades include a more sophisticated Advanced Driver Assistance System and recalibrated software for the adaptive dampers and air springs, which are said to “increase transient body control” and provide sharper turn-in.

Pricing will no doubt increase as part of the upgrade, though Aston’s Lamborghini Urus rival should still start from less than $500,000 plus on-road costs, in part because there have been no changes made to the top-shelf DBX’s 520kW/900Nm twin-turbo 4.0-litre V8.
