2024 Hyundai i20 N facelift outed

Leaked dealer bulletin locks in the altered design of Hyundai’s smallest N car

The facelifted 2024 Hyundai i20 N has been unmasked via a leaked dealer bulletin detailing the minor cosmetic changes made to the lauded hot hatch weeks ahead of its national release.

A pair of low-resolution images snapped of the internal document were posted to the Hyundai i20 N Owners Club Australia Facebook group this afternoon, showing two labelled photos of the updated model – one front three-quarter, one rear three-quarter – in all its glory.

As per the red pre-production car spotted in Turkey earlier this year, the updated i20 N will roll on new machine-faced 18-inch alloy wheels and wear a mildly tweaked grille with a matte-black Hyundai emblem and a flat style N badge.

Absolutely nothing has changed at the rear beyond the adoption of a black Hyundai logo to match the front.

The leaked document doesn’t provide any insight as to any mechanical or specification changes, however carsales understands the i20 N’s 1.6-litre turbo-petrol powertrain and aggressive chassis set-up have both been left untouched.

It should be a similar story in terms of the standard equipment, save for the addition of wireless smartphone mirroring, intelligent speed limit assist and perhaps a few other enhanced safety features.

Our sources tell us the new model’s specification is so close to the current version’s it will simply roll into showrooms as new stock – albeit with a minor price adjustment.

The leak comes less than a week after eight production-spec vehicles were spotted on the back of a car carrier in Turkey headed to the port ready for export to Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and the Middle East, with our market now easily the biggest in the world following the i20 and i30 Ns’ axing from Europe.

Expect an official pricing and specification announcement from Hyundai in the coming weeks, if not days.
