2024 JAC T9 dual-cab 4x4 ute lands in dealers

Cut-price Chinese ute makes it home for Xmas from $45,670

The first 2024 JAC T9 customer cars have arrived in local showrooms to take the challenger ute fight to the SsangYong Musso, GWM Cannon and LDV T60.

Priced from $42,662 plus on-road costs, the T9 is being offered Down Under in two forms: the entry-level Oasis and flagship Haven ($46,530), both of which feature a 125kW/410Nm 2.0-litre turbo-diesel engine and eight-speed automatic transmission.

Both versions can carry up to 1045kg on the rear bed and accommodate a full-size Australian pallet in the tub.

Inside, the base Oasis model gets a 10.4-inch infotainment system and a digital instrument cluster, a wireless charging pad, smartphone mirroring, LED lamps, climate control, a reversing camera, auto-wipers and 18-inch alloy wheels.

The Haven adds rear privacy glass, a 360-degree camera and heated front seats.

Both variants are covered by a seven-year/unlimited-kilometre warranty and a 24/7 roadside assistance package.

The diesels’ arrival coincides with the production of the 1000th Australia-bound vehicle, with plug-in hybrid and battery-electric versions set to join the fray sometime next year.
