2024 Jaguar I-PACE: Fresh design, higher prices

Revised styling and price hikes for British brand’s pioneering electric SUV, due in local showrooms mid-2023

The upgraded 2024 Jaguar I-PACE has been confirmed for Australian release in July, when the British car-maker’s original electric SUV will bring fresh exterior and styling tweaks and price rises of more than $5000.

Available in two variants, the R-Dynamic SE continues to open the 24MY Jaguar I-PACE line-up, now priced from $148,800 before on-road costs (up $1943), while the flagship R-Dynamic HSE is up $5383 to $165,600 plus ORCs.

That makes Jaguar’s only EV pricier than large electric SUV rivals including the BMW iX (from $135,900), Mercedes-Benz EQC (from $145,600) and Audi e-tron, which is currently priced from $147,400 but will soon be replaced by the updated/renamed Q8 e-tron range.

In line with tweaks announced in the UK two weeks ago, four years after its original launch, the updated I-PACE brings a smoother, enclosed grille in place of the previous I-PACE’s black mesh unit, now painted in Atlas Grey to match vertical air intake panels on the front bumper.

The door finishers and rear diffuser are now colour-matched to the bodywork, while a black exterior pack (previously optional) now comes standard on both trim grades, bringing larger 22-inch satin-grey diamond-turned wheels with carbon-fibre inserts.

Owners will now be able to choose between black or body colour for the rear section of the roof (behind the panoramic sunroof), while two satin paint options – Eiger Grey and Carpathian Grey – are available for the first time.

Inside, Jaguar Land Rover’s latest Pivi Pro infotainment unit continues on, incorporating wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, plus Alexa voice control.

Every version of the 2024 Jaguar I-PACE continues to come with a 90kWh lithium-ion battery that delivers a WLTP-verified 470km of range and powers a dual-motor all-wheel drive powertrain pumping out a healthy 294kW of power and 696Nm of torque.

That’s enough to send the EV from zero to 100km/h in a claimed 4.8 seconds before topping out 200km/h.

How much does the 2024 Jaguar I-PACE cost?
R-Dynamic SE – $148,800 (+$1943)
R-Dynamic HSE – $165,600 (+$5383)
* Prices exclude on-road costs
